End your Tenancy

If you wish to end your tenancy you have to give us at least 28 days notice, in writing.  The Association will send you a termination of tenancy form to complete and return.  If you are a joint tenant, then the other must also sign to show that you both agree that the tenancy should be given up.

You will have to pay rent up to the end of the 28 day notice period even if you actually move before then.  You will also have to arrange a date for us to inspect your house.

Before you leave your house you must:-

  • Carry out repairs which are your responsibility otherwise they will be charged to you.
  • Re-instate any alterations which are a tenant's responsibilities.
  • Arrange in advance to have the Council's Cleansing Dept uplift any large items for you
  • Give Gas and Electricity authorities at least two full days notice for final readings
  • Remove floor coverings and underlay throughout
  • Remove all your fittings and fixtures and fill any holes
  • Re-instate torn and missing wall coverings
  • Leave your house in a clean and tidy condition throughout
  • Return three sets of keys to the Association
