Our People

The Association has 29 Staff, covering five functional areas:-

  • Chief Executive's Office (including Whiteinch LHO)
  • Finance
  • Housing Management
  • Projects
  • Repairs, Factoring & Support Services

Staff are directed by the Management Committee through the Association's Executive Team.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Ian Morrison, who joined WSHA in February 2004, is an Honours Graduate with Post Graduate Diplomas in Marketing and Public Administration.  Before joining Copperworks Housing Co-operative as Director in 1996, Ian was employed by Scottish Homes (now the Scottish Housing Regulator) as a senior Monitoring Officer, after a spell with Glasgow City Council.

DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE & SECRETARY

Karen McQueen, who joined WSHA in 1994, is an Honours Graduate with a Masters Degree in Business.  Her previous career was in the aerospace industry, latterly in the management of financial and human resources to support multi-million pound aero-engine programmes. 

FINANCE MANAGER

Andrew Reid who joined the Association in 1996 is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and has a Post Graduate Certificate in Social Enterprise.  Prior to joining WSHA, Andrew was the Financial Director of a printing group and previously the Financial Controller of a major property developer based in Scotland.

HOUSING MANAGER

Jim Calderwood, who has been with the Association since 1988, has a Diploma in Public Administration, a Diploma in Housing Studies, and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.  Prior to joining the Association's Development Department, Jim worked for over 10 years in Glasgow District Council's Housing Department. 

PROJECTS MANAGER

Fiona Birse joined WSHA in July 2003.  Fiona is a registered Architect and an Honours Graduate with a Post Gradute Diploma in Architecture, who holds an MSc in Local Economic Development.  Fiona began her career in housing associations in 1993 when she joined Paisley South H.A. as Care and Repair Project Officer.  She moved to West of Scotland H.A. in 1994 as Development Officer, then became their Project Officer in 1996, before becoming Development Manager at Horizon H.A. in 2001.
